RIGGERS Closing Event by SKH and FEDEC

Content & format

The RIGGERS (React, Invent, Get together for a Goal: Expertise in Rigging Services) project was developed to address the needs of riggers in professional circus schools, with the aim of improving the quality of safety measures and creating an international community willing to exchange skills, advice and know-how to pass on to future generations. During this session you will participate in

  • a short presentation of the RIGGERS project
  • the FED-talks: video tutorials on safety & rigging, realised by the riggers of different circus schools in Europe and Canada. The videos will be screened, discussed and presented by the riggers.
  • closing speech

Learning outcomes

  • Information on the outcomes of the RIGGERS project
  • Getting in touch with an international community of riggers (and subscribe to the RIGGERS workspace on Slack!)
  • Meet in person with riggers from 10 of the most important circus schools in the world
  • Raising awareness about the importance of technical safety in circus education

Lorenzo Albiero: responsible for international projects at FEDEC (International Network for Professional Circus education Belgium), project coordinator of the RIGGERS project.

Jorun Kugelberg: International Relations coordinator at SKH (Stockholm University of the Arts, Sweden), she is currently co-managing the RIGGERS project.
